Student ARC Onboarding: Microsoft Apps

Microsoft Apps - OneNote

Make sure you have the ability to:

  1. Open the Teams App
  2. Find your class (8745...)
  3. The tab ribbon will contain a Class Notebook (if it is hidden click on the + symbol and it will review more tabs.
  4. Click on the Class Notebook, this will open the Notebook in Teams.
  5. To open the Onenote in the app use the dropdown in the tools ribbon titled Open in Brownser. From the drop down select Open in Desktop App. 

Microsoft Apps - Outlook

Outlook is a Microsoft Application which allows students and staff to webmail, calendaring, contacts, and task services.

Make sure you know how to:

  1. Create a new email
  2. Send an email as an event reminder
  3. Send attachments/ photos/ videos
  4. Find an email given only the first or surname

Microsoft Apps - Word

Microsoft Word is a word processor which allows staff and students to create documents and create reports and type up notes which can consist of text, images, shapes and other objects.

Make sure you know how to:

  1. Type and edit text on Word
  2. Insert images
  3. Save the document as a PDF
  4. Insert shapes 

Microsoft Apps - Teams

Make sure you have the ability to:

  1. Open the Teams App
  2. Find your class (8745...)
  3. Go through Teams to make sure you have been added to every class
  4. Send a message in you Teams to let your teacher know you are in the Team

Microsoft Apps - Powerpoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program which allows students and staff to deliver information with text, images, videos, shapes, tables and more.

 

Make sure you know how to:

  1. How to save your presentation to Onedrive
  2. How to add animations and transition effects
  3. Use a pointer and pen during a presentation
  4. How to share the document
  5. How to save the document as a PDF

Microsoft Apps - Excel

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet developed by Microsoft which allow staff and students to calculate using formulas, create tables, charts and graphs as well as insert images.

 

Make sure you know how to:

  1. Create a table and colour coat it
  2. Add images
  3. Create a chart
  4. Use formulas
  5. Save your Excel spreadsheet/s to Onedrive
