Students may be credited with up to four Endorsed Units.

Option 2: Certificate II in Active Volunteering

Students who elect to complete the Certificate II in Active Volunteering will choose this course as an elective in Year 10 and complete the course requirements over the year. Throughout this course students will work to gain experience in Youth Ministry through the College’s 24:7 SERVE programme and Community Social Justice Advocacy through our partnership with Caritas Australia. This programme has proven over the years to provide deep and meaningful mentoring, leadership and work-ready skills, while also offering personally transformational encounters and time.

Throughout Year 10 our students will:

Learn and understand the needs of our local community and why people are marginalised. Develop an awareness that through our actions we can make a difference to people’s lives for the better.

Engage in projects that improve our community by serve those in need, in particular the most vulnerable. For example helping the Salvation Army in their works to support homelessness in Western Australia by working in their soup kitchen.

Reflect on ways we have been able to improve people’s lives in our community through our actions

Throughout Year 11 our students will:

Learn about and develop a deep understanding of the global needs and those most vulnerable and marginalised. Develop an understanding that through our actions we can make a difference to people’s lives for the better.
