Overview

Throughout Year 9 our students will:

Learn about the needs in our local community and how we, through our actions can make a difference to people’s lives for the better by:

  • Identifying injustice in our local community
  • Knowing what actions can be used to address the injustice
  • Being empowered to serve others
  • Learning to work in Solidarity and for the preferential option for the poor

Explore ways to support people in our community who are in need of assistance so that they can grow in the image of God. For example, working with the elderly and children in our community. Register now!!!

Reflect on ways we have been able to improve people’s lives in our community through our actions

Process

Complete an immersion with Kora, St Kieran CPS or a local aged care facility to deepen their awareness of ways to serve in our community.

Completion of project based activity for example:

  • Working with Kora
  • Volunteer work
  • Fundraising for Kora


Term 4

- Participate in their Christian Service Learning Day

- Completing immersions at a range of agencies

- Complete a reflection on their Christian Service Learning
