Overview

Our Year 7 Christian Service Learning Programme focus is

‘I Discover: The ways to be of service to others.’

Servite Value - Hospitality

“When Jesus says he plans to go farther, they realize that he has given them the gift of his time, so they decide to give him theirs by offering their hospitality. Attentive and selfless listening is a sign of our respect for others, whatever their ideas or their choices in life.” (Christus Vivit, 292)

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares” (Heb 13:2).

Throughout Year 7 our students will:

Learn about our Christian and Servite calling to serve others by:

  • Discovering what it means to be a Servite
  • Discovering a common identity for all students as Servites
  • Understanding what Christian Service Learning is
  • Being empowered to serve others
  • Discovering how they can pursue the Common Good and Dignity of others

Explore ways to serve in our home, school and local community. For example, serving the College in supporting fundraising activities by donating goods to charity and supporting peers with homework.

Reflect on how we can contribute towards our community and serve those around us in the example of Christ and the Seven Holy Founders.
