The Purpose of Mood Boards

A mood board, not to be confused with a mood ring, or a mood swing, is a way to collect different creative information in order to prepare for a new project.
It is a segue between initial thoughts or meeting and the first draft of your project.

Investigate

  • Investigate existing machines and create a mood-board of 10 cool features you may include in your design.
  • Annotate the mood-board pointing out the simple and compound machines and or the physics concepts that are visible in each picture.
  • Using the videos at the following link take screen shots of features you would like to incorporate into your own Rube Goldberg Machine
  • Lever.
  • Wheel and axle.
  • Pulley.
  • Inclined plane.
  • Wedge.
  • Screw.
